DLink DSL-200 USB ADSL Modem - Bridge Installation for Windows XP
- Double click the “My Computer” icon on your desktop or from
your “Start” menu.
Within the My Computer window, double click your CD-ROM drive
and locate the Setup.exe file.
- Double click the “Setup.exe” icon.
- Welcome to the D-Link DSL-200 ADSL Modem Setup.
- Click the “Next>” button.
- Select your ISP.
- Choose “Other Service Provider”.
- Click the “Next>” button.
- Select driver type.
- Choose “LAN Driver”.
- Click the “Next>” button.
- Enter your communication settings.
VPI=8, VCI=35
Encapsulation = RFC 1483 IPoATM Bridged LLC Encapsulation
Modulation = G.DMT
- Setup has enough information to start copying the driver files.
Click the "Next>" button.
- You will be prompted with several windows stating that the software
has not passed Windows Logo testing.
Click the “Continue Anyway” button on all occurrences.
- The DSL Installer has finished copying the files to your computer.
Click the "Finish" button.
- Please plug the DSL-200 modem into your computer.
You will now be prompted to install software for the following:
1. D-Link DSL200 USB ADSL Loader
2. D-Link DSL200 USB ADSL Modem(WAN)
- Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard.
This wizard will install the software for the D-Link DSL200 USB
ADSL Loader.
Choose “Install the software automatically (Recommended).
Click the “Next>” button.
Please wait while the wizard installs the software..
- You will be prompted that the software has not passed Windows
Logo testing.
Click the “Continue Anyway” button.
- You have successfully installed the software for the D-link
DSL-200 USB ADSL Loader.
Click the “Finish” button.
- Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard.
This wizard will install the software for the D-Link DSL200 USB
ADSL Modem(WAN).
Choose “Install the software automatically (Recommended).
Click the “Next>” button.
- Please wait while the wizard installs the softwareÂ…
- You will be prompted that the software has not passed Windows
Logo testing.
Click the “Continue Anyway” button.
- You have successfully installed the software for the D-link
DSL-200 USB ADSL Modem(WAN).
Click the “Finish” button.
- Congratulations, you have successfully installed all components
of the D-Link DSL-200 USB ADSL Modem.
- After the necessary software has been installed, an Ethernet
adapter corresponding to the D-Link DSL-200 USB ADSL modem will
be placed in your Network Connections. This will usually be called
Local Area Connection 2.
Next > Configure the TCP/IP Settings
Configure the TCP/IP Settings
- Right mouse click the “My Network Places” icon on the desktop.
Select “Properties”.
- Right mouse click “Local Area Connection 2”.
- Select “Properties”.
- Select “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)”.
- Click the “Properties” button.
- Select “Use the following IP address”.
- Enter in your given IP address, Subnet mask, Default gateway
and DNS servers.
- Click the “OK” button.
This will return you to the Local Area Connections 2 Properties.
- Click the “Close” button.
- Congratulations, you have successfully configured the TCP/IP
settings.

Set your Internet Options to “Never dial a connection”
- Open up Internet Explorer.
- Click on the “Tools” link at the top.
- From the Tools drop down menu, click on “Internet Options”.
(This will open up the Internet Options window.)
- Click on the “Connections” tab.
- If not greyed out, select “Never dial a connection”.
- Click the “Apply” button then the “OK” button.
