WebControl is a powerful tool for monitoring and controlling your internet usage and costs. It lets you monitor and filter traffic before it arrives at your network, giving your business a single point of access and control.
Login to Domain Pilot
Click on WebControl Reports

Click on Start WebControl

Click on OK when prompted if you are sure you wish to start WebControl

Enter your e-mail address in the popup window (this can be modified later)

Congratulations! You have enabled WebControl on your domain
WebControl can be configured to send reports daily, weekly or monthly.
You can also choose if there are particular users that you do not want to include in the reports.
To access these options click on Show Options

Change the options as desired and click on Save Options

Choose the sites that you wish to turn WebControl on for by clicking on IP Management

You will be presented with a list of DSL locations and two options: WebControl and Force

If you wish the connection to be monitored ensure that the WebControl is on.
If you wish to force the connection to go through a proxy for more detailed reporting, ensure Force is on for that location.
When Force is enabled the connection must go through a proxy server or browsing will be blocked.
If you would like all of the users on your domain to authenticate against their Domain Pilot accounts use the proxy server
wcp-dp.connexus.net.au on port 8080
If you would like us to try and determine the username from your users computers use the proxy server
wcp-windows.connexus.net.au on port 8080
This will provide a breakdown of individual users on your domain in the reports.
If you are using a proxy server already you will need to configure this as your upstream proxy.
Alternatively. the proxy server will need to be configured on each individual machine on your network.
You may wish to block certain categories of web traffic eg Pornography, Social Networking or Aggressive material. This is done through the WebControl Categories options.
Tick each category that you wish to block and click on Update Filter Categories.
Each time a user attempts to get to a site contained in the category they will reach a blocked page.
If the user believes that the website is in the incorrect category they can request that the page be unblocked. This request may take up to 24 hours.
Websites may be blocked or allowed explicitly through the WebControl Overrides.
Click on Add New Filter Entry to modify the overrides

Select whether to Allow or Deny the site and enter the Hostname and Comment.
Overrides may take up to 10 minutes to be applied.
